Three free Thursday-night concerts remain in Moraga's longest-running summer tradition, starting with Lamorinda Idols and Big Blue Soul Revue at the Moraga Commons bandshell on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Lamorinda Idols opens the evening with local youth vocalists before Big Blue Soul Revue, a retro soul, rhythm, blues, and funk act, takes over at 6:30 p.m. The Aug. 6 show doubles as a performance showcase for Lamorinda Idol, the youth singing program run by the Lamorinda Arts Council since 2006. The program is open to kindergarten through 12th-grade students who attend school or live in Lafayette, Moraga, or Orinda. Idol finalists head to the Orinda Theatre for their finals performance on Sunday, Aug. 16.

The Moraga Park Foundation hosts the series, now in its 42nd year, bringing free live music to the park at 1425 St. Mary's Road every summer since 1984. The 2026 season features 12 concerts total, according to the foundation's website.

Earlier this month, the series featured Delta Wires, the Oakland-based harmonica-and-horns blues outfit inducted into the California Blues Hall of Fame in December 2012, on Thursday, July 23. The band has been voted "Best Live Band" by Oakland Magazine and the East Bay Express, recorded eight albums, and shared stages with Van Morrison, John Lee Hooker, and Buddy Guy over a career that includes eight appearances at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival.

The Moraga Lions Club and Moraga Kiwanis Club pour beer and wine at the bandshell, food trucks serve dinner on the lawn, and Loard's Ice Cream is on site at every show.

Residents can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics. Parking at the Commons fills fast; overflow parking is available on the west side of Moraga Road between St. Mary's Road and the Moraga Center Shopping Center. The town says illegally parked vehicles will be cited.

  • Thursday, Aug. 6 — Lamorinda Idols (opening act, local youth vocalists) followed by Big Blue Soul Revue (retro soul, rhythm, blues, and funk)
  • Thursday, Aug. 13 — Dream Like Taylor / Cassie B (songs from Taylor Swift plus Top 40 variety)
  • Thursday, Aug. 20 — Fleetwood Mask (Fleetwood Mac tribute)

The series wraps its regular Thursday run on Aug. 20, but a bonus concert follows at the Pear and Wine Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 3 p.m., featuring Houserockers.
