Families can trick-or-treat at downtown Lafayette shops for free on Friday, Oct. 30, when the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual Trick or Treat Street from 4 to 6 p.m.

The route stretches along Mt. Diablo Boulevard from Lafayette Plaza to Dewing Avenue and includes Lafayette Circle and La Fiesta Square, according to the Chamber’s event page. Participating merchants hand out candy and host festivities along the corridor.

Children are encouraged to come in costume and bring their own trick-or-treat bags.
