The Lafayette Rotary Club's "Keep on Truckin'" event returns to Lafayette on Saturday, Oct. 3, giving kids a chance to climb aboard fire engines, police vehicles, garbage trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, concrete pumpers and cherry pickers.

The family event runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Golden Gate Way, behind the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. Tickets cost $10 per person or $30 for a family of four (two adults and two children), with additional individual tickets available for larger families. Tickets can be purchased through the Rotary's Zeffy ticketing page. The platform passes 100% of proceeds to the organizer.

All proceeds benefit the Monument Crisis Center, a Concord-based nonprofit that serves more than 15,000 households through its food distribution program across Central and East Contra Costa County. Donations are routed through the Lafayette Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3).

The event has grown quickly since its debut. The inaugural "Keep on Truckin'" drew more than 1,000 attendees, according to the Rotary Club's Facebook page.

Last year's event, held Oct. 11, 2025, drew more than 2,000 attendees and raised over $10,000 for the Monument Crisis Center, according to a Rotary Club press release provided to Surround Sound News.

"This event creates a unique experience where children can explore, learn, and be inspired while families connect with their community," organizers said in the release. "At the same time, it helps raise critical funds for local charitable organizations."
