Lafayette council decides tonight: appoint or hold election

The Lafayette City Council meets tonight at 5 p.m. to decide whether to appoint three qualified candidates directly to open council seats or let the race proceed to the Nov. 3 ballot.

Today is the statutory deadline: state law requires the council to act by the 75th day before the election, or the vote happens by default.

The meeting is in Conference Room 240 at the Main City Offices, 3675 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Residents can view the agenda or submit public comments to [email protected] by noon or attend in person.
